Wonderland

A big part of my creative process is bundling and gathering fashion images to fit a particular aesthetic. For my first project, I wanted to explore the world of Wonderland and present a couture reality of what Wonderland would look like through my fashion-loving eyes. It was challenging to present a coherent series but I feel like I captured the quirkiness of the iconic fairytale with the pieces I chose. 

The Queen of Hearts

Older women are almost always portrayed as villainous in European fairytales. I wanted the Queen of Hearts to embody sexiness. She's bold and gets what she wants. I chose sharp silhouettes and elements that allude to danger as spikes, crystals, and long nails, in order to create a villainous vibe. She's bad because she loves it, not because she's insecure.
