The Oscars Vanity Fair Afterparty - An Honest Review

The Vanity Fair After Party is one of the most exclusive parties of the year and usually the place where couture looks get their first breath of life.

This year was no exception as an abundance of celebrities walked the red carpet in a variety of glistening looks.

ree

Kerry Washington in a strange fitting Giambattista Valli gown. The statement necklace and impeccable glam unfortunately can't distract me from questioning this Chanel type dress.

ree

Chrissy Teigan in Oscar de la Renta. This looks messy and makes her look like a heavy duty sponge.

ree

Quinta Brunson looks 'okay' in this Marc Bouwer gown. However, this type of gown is the forever red carpet dress that's always remade by every designer, every season.

ree

Pamela Andersoon looks rich AF in this Oscar de la Renta look. But it also kinda looks like she's wearing her duvet.

ree

Love Kris but unfortunately this Oscar de la Renta do up is not it.

ree

Joey King in Balenciaga. The look itself is okay but the hair is way too safe to go along with it.

ree

Serena Williams in Off-White. She looks okay but I am so confused with the floral/marble bust situation.

ree

Kelly Rowland in Nina Ricci. This look has way too much going on, from the color contrast to the bows to the fishnet tights, this looks feels clouded. If she had lost the fishnets it would've presented better.

ree

Kendall Jenner looking gorgeous in Maison Margiela.

ree

Demi Lovato looking like they're not supposed to be there wearing Sophie Couture.

ree

Vanessa Hudgens in Alberta Ferreti. Congratulations on the pregnancy, I'll keep to myself about what she's wearing.

ree

Kylie Jenner looks splendid in Ludovic de Saint Sernin.

ree

Emrata wearing Jacquemus. Loving the messt sleeve situation.

ree

Margot Robbie in Mugler. She needs a hairstylist and a pack of Skims.

ree

Colman Domingo in Balmain. EXCELLENT!

ree

Jeniffer Lawrence in vintage Givenchy. She looks like she just got out of the staples.

ree

Chloe Bailey in my least favorite Robert Wun piece to date. The constant need to show her silhouette is ruining every moment.

ree

Tracee Ellis Ross in ill-fitted Balmain. Tragic.

ree

Halle Bailey in the strangest Off-White gown. The white stripe is very confusing.

ree

Sydney Sweeney in Marc Bouwer. This looks vulgar and ages her.

ree

Cardi B in Versace SS03. Too much hair and I feel like the gothic vibe doesn't suit her well.

ree

Hunter Schafer Bottega Veneta. This look would've been a 10/10 if she spiced it up with the hair. Simple and elegant!

ree

Victoria Monet looks like she's about to get swallowed by this Harris Reed dress.

ree

Ice Spice in Dolce & Gabanna. Not the time and place for this look!

ree

Linday Lohan in Balenciaga. She looks effortless!

ree

Lizzo looks amazing in Robert Wun!

ree

Hailee Steinfeld missed the mark with this Alexandre Vauthier look. Too much fabric!

ree

Phoebe Tonkin looks amazing in Oscar de la Renta. The neckline could be a bit higher tho or distract us with a necklace.

ree

Camila Mendes in Tamara Ralph. Good!

ree

A rare miss for MJ Rodriguez in Iris Van Herpen. Looks good but disproportionate.

ree

Anya Taylor Joy in Miss Sohee. If the tights matched the headpiece this wouldve been a 10/10!

ree

Adut Akech looks simple and stunning in Valentino Couture.

ree

Kim Kardashian looks great in Balenciaga. However, it's oddly reminiscent of a folded napkin.

Lots of missed potential in my opinion. The common denominator seems to be that they dressed for the traditionally blue Vanity Fair carpet which would've been less contrasting for some of this looks.
